This policy explains what personal information is collected when you use this website or get in touch, why it is collected, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not skimmed past, so it is kept as plain as the subject allows.
For the purposes of UK data protection law, the data controller is Taimi Venho, an AI adoption consultant based in Edinburgh, trading as a sole trader. If you have any question about your information, you can reach me directly at consulting@taimivenho.com.
I only collect information that you choose to give me. There is no account to create and no login. The site itself does not ask you for anything in order to browse it.
Information is collected in three situations:
I use the information you give me to reply to you, to arrange and hold a discovery call, and, if we go on to work together, to carry out and manage that work. That is the whole of it.
I do not sell your information, I do not share it for advertising, and I do not add you to a marketing list. If at some future point I offer something like a newsletter, it would be a separate, optional choice that you would actively opt into.
UK data protection law asks me to have a lawful basis for using your information. Where you have contacted me about possible work, the basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. Where you have simply asked a question, the basis is my legitimate interest in responding to genuine enquiries about my services. You can object to use based on legitimate interest at any time.
This website does not set tracking or advertising cookies, and it does not run visitor analytics such as Google Analytics. Because there are no non-essential cookies, there is no cookie consent banner; there is nothing for one to ask you about.
Two points are worth noting for completeness. The site uses Google Fonts to display its typefaces, which means your browser requests those font files from Google, and Google receives your IP address as part of that request. Separately, I use Google Search Console to see how the site appears in Google's search results; this works from Google's own data and does not place anything on the site or track you as a visitor.
Running a small website means using a handful of external services. Each one only handles the information described above, and each has its own privacy terms:
Some of these providers are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where information is transferred internationally, those providers operate under the safeguards required by UK data protection law.
If we do not end up working together, I keep enquiry and booking correspondence for up to two years, in case you come back to the conversation, and then delete it. If we do work together, I keep the relevant records for as long as the work is active and for up to six years afterwards, which is the period that applies to business and tax records. You can ask me to delete your information sooner, and I will unless I am required to keep it.
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask me to:
To exercise any of these, just email me at consulting@taimivenho.com. There is no charge, and I will respond within one month.
If you are not happy with how I have handled your information, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk. I would be glad to put things right directly first, but the route to the regulator is always open to you.
If the way the site works changes, for example if analytics are added later, this policy will be updated and the date at the top will change. The current version is always the one published here.
For anything at all to do with your information, or this policy, email consulting@taimivenho.com and I will come back to you.
